Porting your number: timeline and what we need
We can't promise a porting timeline, because your current carrier sets the pace. We confirm your port date once your carrier accepts the request. To start, we need a recent bill, your account number and PIN, the authorized name and service address on the account, and a signed letter of authorization.
Updated September 28, 2026What do you need from me?
- A recent bill from your current carrier.
- Your account number and PIN.
- The authorized name and service address on the account, exactly as your carrier has them.
- A signed letter of authorization (LOA), which gives permission to move the number.
How long will it take?
Your current carrier reviews the request and sets the pace, so there's no guaranteed timeline. Once the carrier accepts the request, we confirm your port date with you.
Keep your current service active until the port is done. Canceling early can lose the number.
What can slow a port down?
- A name, address or account number that doesn't match your carrier's records.
- A missing or wrong PIN.
- Port-out protection still turned on with your current carrier.
Where can I learn more about porting?
Our porting guide covers number portability in general, and the Studio Cloud Phone page has the form to get started.
